Parga's coastline is a series of bays separated by green headlands, so you can try a different beach every day without driving far.

Krioneri

The town beach, right in front of the islets. Convenient for a quick swim with cafés a few steps away; busy in high season.

Valtos

A long, sandy beach on the other side of the castle hill. Walk over the hill (steep but short), drive round, or take a water taxi from the harbour. Sunbeds and tavernas line the beach, with water sports at one end.

Lichnos

About 3 km south-east of town, set in a sheltered bay with emerald water and small caves you can explore by boat. Water taxis run from Parga harbour in summer.

Sarakiniko and Ai Giannakis

Further south, these quieter beaches feel more natural. Sarakiniko has shallow water and a couple of tavernas; Ai Giannakis is a pebbly cove popular with locals.

Tips

  • Water taxis are the easiest way to hop between beaches without parking stress.
  • Arrive before 10am in July and August for a good spot.
  • Bring water shoes for the pebblier coves.
